There is one event that makes me feel like I’m living in a real life Forza Horizon game, and that is the GridLife festival. I went to GridLife South in 2016 and 2017, but unfortunately missed the events last year. I often have been told that GridLife Midwest is the best of the festival series but never had the opportunity to go until this year. After returning home for a couple days from Final Bout, I was headed out to the Midwest again for GridLife!
With all the good things I heard about Midwest, I looked forward to this event for months, and honestly I was not disappointed. This was my first time at GingerMan Raceway and my first time in Michigan. I didn’t really know what to expect, but the track was a ton of fun to shoot. Just look at all that green!
Something I’ve become accustomed to over the years shooting drifting is rain. The rain was not enough to deter me from getting some shots though, I can honestly never resist it!
What sets GridLife apart from other events is the festival aspect, combining cars and music, creating a truly unique experience. Perhaps the thing I looked forward to just as much as the drifting was Oliver Tree’s performance. I love getting the chance to try my hand at concert photography because I don’t do it very often.
GridLife Midwest lived up to all of my expectations and then some, I’m already looking forward to the next events!
