Offseason blues are something that over the years, I’ve become pretty accustomed to. The months between the end of the drifting season and the start of the next one can get pretty tiresome and honestly, depressing. Fortunately for myself, Gridlife threw a fun track day for drivers and media at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, California.
It was nice to have a low-key event to hang out and shoot at before the season really gets started and see people I haven’t seen since either before quarantine started or since the end of the season last year. Willow Springs is the track that I first learned how to shoot at, and between quarantine and events I’ve traveled to shoot at over 2020, I hadn’t been to this track since May of last year, so I was happy to be back (even though it was INCREDIBLY windy). Chris Forsberg debuted his Altimaniac and it was positively unreal to see it drifting in person. All in all, it was the kind of fun and relaxed event that I needed in the middle of the offseason, and I really appreciate Gridlife for putting it all together!
