This year’s been weird, there’s really no other way to describe it. I’ve shot a total of three events and barely left my house for three full months. Just when I start scheduling something, plans change again. But it makes sense, we’re in a pandemic. I can’t help but miss shooting drifting so much though. By this time of year, I’d have a plethora of events under my belt for the season and have more trips to look forward to. It’s been hard — mentally, physically, and financially…but my saving grace during all of this has been the opportunity to do something a little different.
For the past month, I’ve been on the road traveling the country working on my friend, Formula Drift Pro 2 driver Kelsey Rowlings’ new show, Road Unknown. And while a lot of this means traveling to different places and enjoying different experiences outside of drifting, we were able to get in a few hours of drifting on Fourth of July while we were in Florida. Kelsey scheduled a private track day for herself and several other drivers at Orlando Speed World, and it was really exciting to have the chance to shoot some drifting again, though it’s a little strange to think that I’ve shot drifting three times in Florida this year and only once in California. I’m on the road for another month, but we’ve got the first round of Formula Drift starting only a couple weeks after I return home, and I cannot wait to get back into it again!
